Wyoming - The Grand Tetons & Yellowstone
What a time I had in Jackson last month!
I stepped off the plane and was immediately struck by how beautiful the mountains were with the sun setting against them.
I went to Jackson for the Jackson Wild Summit and I was there before the summit started because I was selected as one of 16 Jackson Wild Media Lab Fellows. The 16 of us learned all about storytelling, filming, and the business of filmmaking from the core team of Day’s Edge Productions, and we made our own short in 5 days.
I’m not going to go into all the details of the Media Lab because - surprise! that’s gonna be another post.
Jackson Landscape
Without a doubt, Jackson is a beautiful place. Like I said, I couldn’t help but immediately gaze up at the mountains and notice how different it felt from Atlanta and everywhere else I’ve lived on the East coast. If this place could look and feel this beautiful while I was still at the airport, imagine what it used to look like for the people who lived here?
For the Media Lab & Summit, I spent most of my time at Jackson Lake Lodge and when I was in the surrounding areas, I was looking for beavers. 🦫 But honestly, I didn’t have to go far for amazing views. They were everywhere.
Yellowstone national park
After the summit, I went to Yellowstone with one of the other fellows. It was nice of him to let me join in on the ride! We started out early in the morning (without our headlights on), but that paid off when we got to see the sun rise and the animals stirring. You can see a few of our megafauna sightings below.
